An independent design and software studio in Burnaby, BC. We design and build digital products and the brands around them, for ourselves and for clients.

Our own products.

We created all three, including the names and the brands. Each case shows the work behind it.

More design.

Identity, illustration, interfaces and print, for our own ideas and for clients.

What we do for clients.

We design your product and write its code, so the version you approve is the version that ships.

The July issue

The brief

Local papers have been shrinking for years, and city history is usually the first thing they drop. 8 Pages Burnaby publishes eight stories a month about the people and places of one city. The July issue, The Overlooked, was about the ones Burnaby had forgotten.

AI agents help with research, first drafts, photos and search. An editor reads, rewrites and approves every story before it is published. We designed the masthead, the typography and the website, and set up how the newsroom works.

Newsroom

An editor on every story.

Agents suggest topics, research them, write first drafts and find photos. At each step the editor approves the work, sends it back or rewrites it, and a story goes live only after the final sign-off.
